module menu icon Meningitis vaccines

There are vaccines available that protect against some of the most common causes of meningitis and septicaemia, however sadly we can’t vaccinate ‘wholesale’ against meningitis and septicaemia and there isn’t one universal vaccine. We have to vaccinate against different types and different strains.

Along with clean water, immunisation is the public health intervention that has had the most positive effect on the world’s health and we encourage everyone to take up the offer of the vaccines that are available as part of the routine immunisation schedule.
