Prime minister Rishi Sunak visited Well Pharmacy parent company Bestway’s medicines distribution facility in Stoke-on-Trent on Monday July 1 to meet with staff as part of his election campaign.
“Everyone loves their local pharmacy,” Mr Sunak told the assembled Bestway team members, adding: “I know first-hand what a difference community pharmacies can make in their communities – that’s why I introduced Pharmacy First.
“If I am re-elected, I want to build on that and we will expand that programme to more conditions.”
Bestway CEO Lord Zameer Choudrey said: “With the 2024 general election campaign coming to its climax, we were delighted to welcome the prime minister, the right honourable Rishi Sunak, to our Bestway Healthcare Service Centre depot in Stoke on Trent on Monday.”
Lord Choudrey said the prime minister was “keen to see first-hand results of the significant investment which has been poured into our multi-channel site” and was “impressed by the levels of automation and innovation that make the HSC such a successful operating model”.
